ARE YOU A HIGH ACHIEVER?
Guess what everyone, today I did an interesting task in my entrepreneurship class on how to find out if you are a high achiever or not. Here are some of the questions that were asked.
1. An instructor in one of your college classes has asked you to vote on three grading options:(a) study the course material, take the exams, and receive the grade you earn; (b) roll a die and get an A if you roll an odd number and a D if you get an even number; (c) show up for all class lectures, turn in a short term paper and get a c. Which of these options will you choose?
2.How would you describe yourself as a risk taker? (a) High, (b) Moderate (c) Low.
3. You have just been asked by your boss to take on a new project in addition to the many task you are already doing. What would you tell your boss? (a) Since I'm already showed under I cant't handle anymore. (b) Sure, I'm happy to help out; give it to me. (c) Let me look over my current Workload and get back to you tomorrow about whether I can take on any more work.
4. Which one of this people would you most like to be? (a) Steve Jobs, founder of apple computers, (b) Lee Iaccoca of Chrysler fame, (c) Jack Welch
5. Which one of these games would you most like to play? (a) Monopoly (b) Bingo (c) Roulette.
The scoring method is

10 0 2
2 10 2
6 2 10
7 10 2
10 0 0
High achiever 38-50

All Entrepreneurs Need Is Money.
Could this statement be true? It might look true to you, but before you
come to a conclusion, I would like you to analyze this story. I gave Mr Ayuba #100,
000 to set up a good business that would yield good profit. I was hoping to see
the business grow and hear about its expansion. One year later, I visited
Ayuba; to my greatest surprise the shop was shut down and he couldn’t give
proper account on how the #100,000 was spent.
I decided to find out on my own what could cause a business to fail so quickly
and I got my answers crystal clear. It was because
of Managerial incompetence, which is lack of intelectual and physical qualification... lack of financial understanding, poor investment,
poor planning, etc. For true entrepreneurs who practice the above business
tips, money is a resource to them and never an end in itself. (KURATKO)
In conclusion, I think if you give a man without entrepreneurial thought, who is not driven by passion or a creative mind the sum of $1 billion; he wouldn’t be as productive as expected, because he lacks the tools to build up a solid business foundation that is meant to metamorphose into something big and yield good profit

I would like to lay my emphasis on three basic myths of
entrepreneurship, which I feel has made people feel out of place or hinder them
from advancing. The first myth is for people to think that “ENTREPRENEURS ARE
BORN NOT MADE”. The misconception that characteristics of entrepreneurs can’t
be taught or learned – that they are innate traits one must be born with- is
actually appalling. You find so many creative people all over the world jobless
because of their perception of life; what would be would be or some
superstitious believe that poverty is in their lineage. I am here to let you
know that you are what you repeatedly do excellence then is not an act but a
habit.”PERICLE” nobody is born great. The difference between entrepreneurs and
small business owners is that they are driven with energy and passion, ready to
take calculative risk to achieve what you could call the unimaginable to the
small business owner. People feel entrepreneurs are born with traits such as
aggressiveness, initiative and drive, a willingness to take risk, analytical
ability, and skill in human relations. Today however, the recognition of
entrepreneurship as a discipline is helping to dispel this myth. Like all
disciplines, entrepreneurship has models, processes, and case studies that
allow the topic to be studied and the knowledge to be acquired.
Secondly entrepreneurs have also been tagged as inventors. This
sound right, but am sorry it’s not. you do not
have to build a sky scraper or have the biggest manufacturing company in
the world to be an entrepreneur, neither do you have to create or manufacture
anything yourself rather when you sell your ideas to those who have the ability
to invent or create things you’ve practically become one of entrepreneurs in that business plan.
Entrepreneurship goes beyond invention; it requires absolute comprehension of
innovative behaviour in all its forms.
Aliko Dangote who is Nigeria’s first billionaire and richest
person, with an estimated net worth of $11.2 billion dollars, started his
career as a trader. He was only twenty one years old when he put the loan given
to him by his uncle into good use (Mars) .
As ordinary as he seemed then, today, he qualifies as extra ordinary. I bet his
uncle never knew his loan was going to transform his little nephew into one of
the world’s richest men.
HI everyone
I am excited again to share some entrepreneurship secrets
with you. Okay, “secret” is probably not the right word. However, my awesome
entrepreneurship instructor has done it again; she has literally renovated my
mental furniture and corrected some of the misconceptions I had about
entrepreneurs.
Before getting you really excited about my entrepreneurship
class, it will only be fair to better define the concept, entrepreneurship. To do this, I use the words of Robert C.
Ronstadt, one time associate professor of Management, when
he says, “entrepreneurship is a dynamic process of vision, change and creation,
which requires an application of energy and passion toward the creation and implementation
of new ideas and creative solutions” (Kuratko 5). Okay I may be boring you with
the basics now, but trust me, it will only make the main topic more
interesting.
Also important to
note is that the fancy word “entrepreneurship” was coined from the French word entreprenire which means “to undertake”.
Though intelligent scholars have brilliantly defined this concept, I understand
entrepreneurship as the ability to undertake calculative risk, having the basic
skills such as managerial competence which is the quality of being adequately or well qualified physically and intellectually, good financial understanding, wise
investments ... with the aim of achieving profit, growing your business etc.
With this definition, I am sure we can move on to the topic
for today which is the myths of entrepreneurship. ADAM SMITH IN HIS QUOTES SAID,
“THE REAL PRICE OF EVERY THING, WHAT EVERY THING REALLY COSTS TO THE MAN WHO WANTS
TO ACQUIRE IT, IS THE TOIL AND TROUBLE OF ACQUIRING IT”.

ENTERPRENEURSHIP
1964: Peter Drucker: An entrepreneur searches for change, responds to it and exploits opportunities. Innovation is a specific tool of an entrepreneur hence an effective entrepreneur converts a source into a resource. The most significant influence on an individual's decision to become an entrepreneur is workplace peers and the social composition of the workplace.[citation needed] The ability of entrepreneurs to innovate relates to innate traits such as extroversion and a proclivity for risk-taking. According to Schumpeter (1934), the capabilities of innovating, introducing new technologies, increasing efficiency and productivity, or generating new products or services, are characteristics of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs are catalysts for economic change. Research has found entrepreneurs to be highly creative with a tendency to imagine new solutions by finding opportunities for profit or reward.[2]s a specific tool of an entrepreneur hence an effective entrepreneur converts a source into a resource.
There are so many benefits to enterprenureship, and they include self employment, further development of industry especially in rural areas, processing materials into local goods for domestic consumption and exportation, increased economic growth and income, development of new market and promotion of mordern technology in small scale manufacturing......so u see, u are all on the right flight. lets fly...................................
