                                                       FRANCHISE
      The word franchise is of Anglo French derivation from France meaning free, and Dr Donald F. Kuratko defined franchise as any arrangement in which the owner of a trade mark, trade name, or copyright has licensed others to use it in selling goods or services
      Definition of franchise from the AUN library source;  A trading agreement between a supplier (franchiser) and retail outlet (franchisee), often in the service industry, where the retail outlet is given the support of the supplier in return for use of the franchiser's brand and various marketing tools.
.         A franchisee is legally self-sufficient but economically reliant on the incorporated business system of the franchisor (seller of the franchise). Thus the franchisee can function as an autonomous business person but still recognize the merit of a provincial or national organization.
·         A franchisor is one who has the right to grant a franchise. The franchisor’s success    depends on the success of the franchisee.
